As the newest hotel on Orchard Road, Yotel Singapore marks the brand’s debut into Asia with its signature interiors inspired by first-class airline travel experiences. Its appeal goes beyond aesthetics, with high-tech features incorporated into the design, which aim to add to travellers’ convenience.
With the hotel’s tech-forward services, Yotel guests can choose between the conventional check-in process at the lobby, or enjoy a fuss-free and intuitive experience via self-service kiosks. There are even robots, which can independently navigate the hotel spaces so guests can order amenities such as towels, water bottles or hangers, and have them delivered directly to the rooms.
With purple as the corporate colour, a cooler colour scheme was chosen by the design team at DP Design to complement the overall look. Aside from dark wood laminates, and white and grey textured wallcoverings, locally inspired elements were subtlely incorporated into a selection of finishes, including upholstery and floor tiles.
In the small yet highly functional cabins, there are innovative and fun designs that incorporate technology, too. Yotel’s signature adjustable bed and “technowall”, which combines a smart TV, ironing board and multi-power points all in one, aim to offer travellers comfort and convenience.
At restaurant Grains & Hops and the club lounge on Level 10, there is a hint of an industrial-chic aesthetic with a mix of materials from wood-look flooring, to powder-coated wire mesh panels. With a careful curation of furnishings, like exclusively designed lighting fixtures, chairs and couches with fluid silhouettes, as well as a touch of greenery, the space exudes an inviting ambience.
Aside from dining and recreational facilities like the pool, outdoor terrace and gym, there are also co-working spaces and private booths that can double as informal meeting areas. These spaces open up to panoramic views of the city through full-height glass windows, while natural daylight penetrates the interiors.
Design curation extends to the selection of tableware used at the restaurant.
Situated in a prime locale along one of the world’s most famous shopping streets, you’ll be in for a luxurious experience in this 30-storey property.
