When faced with a small apartment, it’s common for designers and homeowners to refrain from using dark colours. Carmen of Wolf Woof, and her clients, a couple in their 40s, challenged this notion by embracing dark hues throughout this apartment — a two-bedroom condominium in Joo Chiat. This being a duplex apartment, it boasts a high ceiling. “The owners wanted an architectural feature that takes advantage of the ceiling height and creates a bold statement,” she explains. “The idea was to create a chic black-and-white Manhattan loft with raw yet clean lines, and featuring a sophistication that fully expresses the owners’ bold and fashion-forward personalities.”
