USE BOOK ENDS TO KEEP THINGS NEAT
Book ends (like these, from Etsy) or shelve dividers can keep bags, clothes with slippery textures, and towels from collapsing or spilling over.
PACK MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS IN TOTE BAGS
Not everything you own can be folded and stacked. Umbrellas, yoga mats, and the odd-shaped item can should be kept in a tote bag. Hang it on the wall or behind a wardrobe door.
KEEP YOUR BEDSHEETS TOGETHER
Although it’s easy to organise linen by size or type, such as pillowcases and bedsheets, it is more useful to keep it according to set or design. Fold the items neatly and keep each set in the set’s pillowcase. This way you won’t end up with a mix-and-match set!
KNOW WHAT YOU ARE KEEPING
You can keep track of your items by storing them in clear boxes or labelling your wicker and paper baskets. Make your own tags and tie it around the handles!
OPT FOR ADJUSTABLE SHELVES
Versatility is important, especially when your wardrobe is always changing. Adjust your shelves according to your storage needs, such as long dresses, pants that you’d rather hang in a single file, and tall shoes. This will keep things your items in the right shape, too.
INSTALL LED STRIPS
You will only wear what you can see, so light up your wardrobe with LED strips. This is also great for deeper wardrobes, or folks who don’t want to turn on the room light unnecessarily. Check out these Ikea lights.
TURN LADDERS INTO STORAGE SPACE
Have plenty of scarves and ties, but don’t have anywhere to put them? Find a skinny wooden ladder (like these Hipvan ones) to hang them on. This doesn’t take up much space, and lets you display your pretty accessories. You can add S-hooks to increase functionality, too.
UTILISE THE BACK OF THE DOOR …
…or the sides of your wardrobe. Nail a hook, so you can hang your next-day outfit on it. Mount a mirror so you keep your floor space free of clutter. There are so many ways you can utilise this space.
