1: Keep only what you wear regularly
We’re not asking you to be like Mark Zuckerberg and wear the same thing everyday to work, but if you haven’t worn those pair of jeans or tee-shirt since you graduated from school, then you probably won’t ever again. As a general rule, put those things you haven’t touched in the last six months into the recycle bin. Besides, that would give you the perfect excuse to go shopping.
2: Buy a clothes rack
The adage “Out of sight, out of mind” is true. When you stow clothes into a drawer, it’s too easy to forget about them. If you rummage through your wardrobe now, we’re pretty sure you’ll find that odd sock or that shirt you never knew you had. Instead, invest in a good open-style clothes rack and hang your favourite pieces up for easy access. That way, you’ll also have a place to hang your belts and ties.
3: Hang your clothes
It’s always easier to go through clothes that are hung up instead of trudging through a mountain of clothes folded and stacked to the ceiling. When purchasing a wardrobe, look for those that allow you to hang your clothes (or as much of them as possible).
4: Place a full-length mirror near your wardrobe
Having a large mirror next to your wardrobe allows you to see your outfit clearly instead of having to run to the bathroom to check.
5: Make space for your accessories
It’s easy for loose earrings, necklaces and bracelets to collect dust when you leave them on the dresser table and you also don't want to lose those pair of diamond earrings. So devote an entire drawer to your accessories and compartmentalise them so know exactly where everything is.
6: Colour code your wardrobe
Remember those times you had to keep going through all your clothes in the wardrobe looking for that one shirt you need, only to find it hidden between two blouses? You can prevent such incidents from happening by arranging all your clothes according to the colour. This way, it helps you narrow down your search when you have that specific outfit in mind.
