Towards A Cleaner Wall
Q: When I scrub at the scruff and ink marks on my walls with Vim or bleach, they leave lighter patches that stand out. What type of cleaner is gentle enough to remove stains?

A: The fastest and cleanest way to remove unsightly stains and marks on walls is to paint them over. There is no way you can remove a major scruff mark without removing the paint beneath as well. However, if the pencil or oil mark is quite minor, you can try using Blu Tack – daub a wad of the sticky material gently against the mark to see if it will lift off.

Guard against such ugly stains by painting your walls with the right type of paint, such as the Nippon Paint EasyWash with Teflon surface protector. Long used on cooking utensils to provide non-stick cooking surfaces, the Teflon technology has now been applied to wall paint for ultimate washability and resistance to common household stains. The paint does cost a little more, but it is ideal for kids’ rooms and the kitchen and dining areas.
