Question:
The pivot door to my master bedroom is heavy and doesn't seem to fit flush into the wall. What can I do?

Answer: Pivot doors are ideal for those who want their doors to sit level with the wall, as there is no need for a doorframe. The pivot mechanism is fixed at the top and base of the door, and the attachment steel plates are screwed into the floor and wall above. It is possible that your door may not have been aligned properly when it was installed.

Pivot doors have become popular nowadays as the minimalist design trend demands a clean profile for all fixtures. Even a huge, solid door can look airy and light - the weight is taken off the doorframe and borne by the internal steel bolt. And without multiple sets of ugly hinges at the side, the edges look neat and elegant even when the door is swung open.
