Try building a desk over the top of the ledge with the back legs attached to the concrete. This layout also ensures good light while working. Or, consider a bed frame that sits on top of the ledge. You can also build in extra storage beneath the bed in the form of drawers.

Another variation on this idea is a storage platform that sits flush with the window ledge. Wide, deep drawers make the platform a convenient storage box for bulky bedding. The ledge now becomes an extended surface for books, a clock and other bedside necessities.
