If craftwork or sewing is your passion, set up a workstation using the things lying around your home. Side tables and sturdy boxes are good supports for a tabletop that’s really an old door.

If it isn’t high enough, prop it up with phone books. Wash out old food jars to hold buttons, and other bits and bobs.
