Contrasting complements
Aesthetic doctor Chan Kok Weng and banker Elaine Chan are as different as a technicolour TV and a black-and-white photo, and their sleek, three-story bungalow shows it in a stylish, coherent look. Their home is ultra-modern yet fun, with a colour scheme anchored by a sophisticated base of black and white, and very strong accents of bright hues.
Elaine attributes this seamless balance of their contrasting preferences to designer Chee Su Eing of D Perception Ritz, who collaborated with them for nearly 16 months to reconstruct what was a 1980s neo-classical mansion into a chic, entertaining-centred glass home. Su Eing says: “It was a nice project to work on because the homeowners are as vibrant as their choice of colours.”
