Flying Solo
As a minimalist frequently out of the country, the 44-year-old pilot, David, needed a dwelling easy to upkeep, hence only the essentials are here. "I don't like coffee tables, throw cushions or rugs so you won't find any here," he motions to the spartan space.
A boxy sofa in charcoal grey and a pair of linear side tables occupy one wall in the living room and that's about all the furniture here.
A jet black spiral staircase forms the spine of the space. This curved stairway provides a sculptural form while leading to where the master bedroom lies. David's bedroom and bathroom continue with the same sharp look, but is warmed up with teak strip flooring and curtains.
The monochromatic palette of black and white gives this minimalist home a modern, masculine edge.
