The Magic Touch
It isn’t every day that interior designers get clients like this homeowner, who was so impressed by the proposal presented by Selina Tay and Cherie Goh of Collective Designs that he was sold on their entire concept for his 2,200sqf condominium apartment.
The designers introduced a classic masculine monochromatic colour scheme for the living areas. “Although we used a black-and-white colour scheme to suggest modernity, there’s a lot of texture as well. For instance, the dark floor tiles carry the texture of fabric and actually resemble a carpet,” says Selina. A touch of luxury is brought in with the high-gloss lacquered finish of the black cabinet-divider separating the living and dining areas. Designer furniture from Edra and Kartell were chosen for their organic shapes, which contrast with the boxy dimensions of the spaces.
