Turning cheap commerical storage into stylish cubicles, and trusting in slanted shelves, Fazlie and Zaidah saw out of the box for their home.

As a designer with a magazine aimed at the luxury market, Fazlie deals with the finer things in life and cutting-edge design. However, as a husband and father, he likes the casual style of the Swedes when it comes to his home. "Zaidah and I both love Scandinavian design for its airiness, so we knew the look to give this flat when we bought it," he says.

To keep the place from looking sterile, the couple opted for a cement finish on the two long walls that flank the space. The look changes to sharp and stylish inside the master bedroom, but still retains its minimalist feel.
