Claim to Fame

About half a century ago, Swedish megastore Ikea was just an ordinary mail-order furniture company. Ikea founder Ingvar Kamprad and designer Gillis Lundgren created Lovet, a self-assembly, flat-packed table in 1956, and the rest is history.

The Lovet is no longer sold, but can be seen at the Ikea Museum in Almhult, Sweden.
