This intermediate terrace house designed by HYLA Architects is divided into two blocks, with a reflecting pool sitting in between. There's lots of natural materials filling the house, including concrete screed walls and timber wood panels, as well as natural light that casts beautiful shadows on the interiors.
Having the pool in the middle of the house offers the opportunity of designing a skylight and airwell with enclosed glass and timber trellis at the top that allows natural light to fill the interior spaces across all floors.
Natural light illuminates the rooms and living spaces in the day, and adds a touch of warmth and a cosy ambience into the industrial-look house.
Wood stair trends are chosen for the staircase to add colour and warm as it sits between concrete screed walls.
There's even a timber bridge in the seond storey of the house that crosses the water pool below, connecting spaces on both blocks and offering homeowners easy access to all spaces in the house.
In one of the bathrooms in the house, the architect added greenery along the shower area for privacy, while giving the space a calming and soothing ambience.
The timber trellis above cast linear shadows on the walls throughout the house.
The kitchen has full-height white cabinets that allow the homeowners to hide away appliances, giving thos space a clutter-free and sleek appearance.
Along the side of the staircase on the first floor, display shelves are designed to offer storage space for the homeowners collection of books, decor accessories and other knick-knacks, which doubles as a feature wall too!
