AMANPURI: 30 years
Aman Resorts got its start on the secluded and scenic west coast of Phuket. Since the first Amanpuri (Sanskrit term meaning “place of peace”) was set up there, Aman has gone on to create 31 resorts, hotels and private residences, in 20 countries.
KING LIVING: 40 years
King Living may have been in Singapore for only two years, but the Australian furniture brand has been plying its trade for a good 40 years. Singaporeans love their sofas; some of the popular pieces include the Jasper modular sofa and the King Boulevard sofa, which feature galvanised steel frames for ultimate durability.
JANUS ET CIE: 40 years
The luxury lifestyle brand that started out in Los Angeles in 1978 now boasts 19 flagship showrooms across the world, including in Singapore. An expert in outdoor furniture, it has furnished spaces in the Ardmore Park condominium and 1-Altitude Bar.
HANSGROHE SELECTA: 50 years
The Selecta hand-held showerhead is a true classic, both in form and function. Its Plexiglas handle is a refreshing look against the chrome plating of the spray head and, when it was launched, marked the first time that the intensity of spray could be adjusted with a twist of the spray head.
DIPTYQUE: 50 years
Diptyque celebrates the 50th anniversary of L’Eau, the French perfumer and luxury scented candle maker’s first eau de toilette. To commemorate the occasion, the brand rolled out two new scents created by Olivier Pescheux, Tempo and Fleur de Peau, that pay homage to their older sister and the spirit of the ’60s.
Atlas Sound & Vision: 55 years
Atlas Sound & Vision started as a record library along Market Street in 1963, and has since evolved into a retailer for premium audio and visual systems, with the family’s second generation. Its concept store Atlas Presents @ Millenia Walk provides customers the opportunity to experience the products in a lifestyle setting.
Vitra cone chair: 60 years
Shockingly revolutionary when revealed in 1958, the Cone chair (by Verner Panton) was originally designed to furnish Danish restaurant Kom-igen on the island of Funen, and to match its interior concept featuring five shades of red.
Achille Castiglioni: 100 years
The legendary Italian designer would have turned 100 this year. He lives on in his products which have since become icons, like the Arco floor lamp and Taraxacum 88 suspension light.
