Award-winning Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola is known for her iconic pieces that encapsulate her inimitable creative sensibilities. We pick out 8 signature pieces of hers that we love.
1) 570 Gender chair
Instantly recognisable thanks to its unique shape, the Gender is a colour-blocked chair that visually separates the soft padded seat from the rigid leather-lined frame. The enveloping chair is designed to respond to the body, and reclines about 12 inches under body weight and returns to its original position after.
The chair is available at Space Furniture.
2) Credenza sideboard
Designed in collaboration with graphic artist Frederico Pepe for Milan boutique Spazio Pontaccio, the Credenza is a capsule collection of cabinets, screens and low tables all featuring stained glass.
The sideboard is a cult favourite amongst Urquiola fans. Get it here.
3) Caboche lights
Designed by Urquiola and Eliana Gerotto for Foscarini, the Caboche is a series of lamps with a band of sparkling chromed metal and glass spheres. Copied extensively since their launch, these lights may be a common sight in many homes, but nothing really comes close to the original.

4) 552 Floe Insel sofa
Since 2015, Urquiola has been the art director of Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina, and the 552 Floe Insel sofa is one of her designs for the brand. The sofa mimics the shape of an iceberg, an imagery she couldn't shake out of her head after a trip she took from Iceland to Greenland.

5) Origami Living table
Inject a pop of playful colour into your living space with this bendy beauty. For this pink and yellow combination, pink onyx and onyx Nuvolato were used and bent at a 90-degree-angle to form the top and support.

6) Visioni B rug
Have a little fun with this colour-blocked rug that appears three-dimensional with their geometric shapes and black outlines. Made with 100% Himalayan wool, the Visioni B is one of two rug designs by Urquiola for Italian rug company Cc-Tapis.

7) Palaver chair
Luxury house Louis Vuitton recently collaborated with several renowned designers to launch their Objet Nomades collection of travel-inspired home accessories. As one of the designers for the collection, Urquiola contributed the Palaver chair, which is made with a wooden frame and leather seat.
