How do you create a liveable yet interesting home? Architecture and design studio Llark Architect's solution is to fill this 120sqm condominium apartment in Bishan with statement features in every room.
"The family has an eclectic taste, and requested for a variety of colours and materials so their home constantly interests them. At the same time, they need it to be child-friendly and have sufficient storage," says the team from Llark. A nature-inspired wall covering from Goodrich in the foyer welcomes the family home with soothing colours.
The kitchen was a separate space from the living and dining area, so the walls were demolished to create a more open space. A geometric green feature wall, made up of tiles from Rice, are matched with dark brown laminates from EDL.
The customised built-in dining table, connected to the kitchen countertop and placed near the foyer, comes with benches. This area also doubles as shoe storage.
Like in the living room, the master bedroom features a full-height storage with open shelving. Look closely and you'll spot the concealed door that leads to the master bathroom! (More ideas for concealed doors here)
The common areas were given new vinyl strip flooring but as the existing bedroom floors are still in good condition, they were simply re-stained.
The bathroom is kept fuss-free and simple.
The playroom for the three young boys were given a fun, geometric motif inspired by mountains.
