After undergoing an important remodel, the historic Kimpton Angler’s South Beach hotel has added 85 rooms to a new wing, conference areas, bars, a revamped lobby and more. Spread over 7,735 sqm, this private oasis was the work of San Fransisco-based interior design practice Nicolehollis.
“We looked to the area’s citrus and tobacco agricultural heritage, and early railroad and seafaring beginnings as a trade and cultural exchange hub with the Caribbean,” says the Nicolehollis team.
The facade of the hotel has been updated with a modern casual look while interesting geometric patterns, tobacco-colour accents and grass drapery panels by Sally England Studio help to give the bar area a dark, warm and inviting feel.
In the guest rooms situated on the upper floors, Nicolehollis custom designed several pieces of furniture, including the platform beds and headboards, pendant lights and nightstands.
Colours are lighter, with touches of blue that make reference to the ocean and sky.
Last but not least, the outdoor spaces encourage the enjoyment of Miami’s warm weather. Guests can decide between relaxing on the Mediterranean- style patio, or the pool deck located on the rooftop.
