House Tour: A bright and spacious intermediate terrace house with a zen-like ambience

Home to a couple and their two young kids, this inter-terrace landed house was given a new lease of life when the homeowners approached Hsu Hsia Pin of Ehka Studio to refurbish the interiors of the house.

Their brief included the need for additional rooms, such as a kid's play area at the living room on the ground floor, and a separate wet (outdoor) and dry (indoor) kitchen, and an open-concept study. They also wanted a kitchen island, which is visually connected to the rest of the living spaces.

Full-width steps were introduced; the steps stretched end to end to create more visual connection between the levels. Some of the steps have also been designed as storage drawers for the kid's toys.
