This design-savvy playground in Yishun will excite you!

Unlike typical playgrounds in Housing Board estates, a new play spot in Yishun Ring Road features hammocks, crooked houses and an interactive light installation.

The 480 sqm Yishun River Green playground was put together by regional playground specialist Playpoint.

A highlight is an installation by internationally renowned light and interactive sculptor Jen Lewin.

Mini Pool, which was showcased at last year's iLight Marina Bay, a sustainable light art festival, has moved to the playground permanently. There are 16 light pads in a radial pattern in two areas of the playground. They light up and change colours when they are stepped on.

Children can also run wild inside three crooked houses by Danish playground design firm Monstrum. Two of the houses are linked by a bridge; one house has a slide and another has a climbing wall.

Instead of the traditional swing set-up, children can have a go at the kinetics hammock trellis - nine swings are hung at different heights so that children can climb to each one as if they are navigating an obstacle course.

The playground is located at 330 Yishun Ring Road.
