House Tour: Contemporary-style three-bedroom penthouse you'll be envious of!

Penthouses have a lot to live up to, being synonymous with luxury and glamour. This unit on the 24th floor of a condominium block, located at Upper Bukit Timah, fulfils the expectations with knockout vistas of greenery, sleek interiors and enviable outdoor living space. The homeowner approached a friend of 20 years, Mark Yong from PIU Design.

The original living room TV point was on the right, which would leave no place for the dining area. By switching it to the opposite wall, the sofa could be placed at a more comfortable distance from the TV, without the dining area getting in the way.

The steel-and-plywood bookshelf is the design focal point of the apartment.

By removing the kitchen walls and a small section of cabinetry, Mark turned the kitchen into an open-concept space, including an island that abuts the dining table.

Softer shades of green are used in the bedroom to evoke tranquillity.

The graphic lines of the window frames are repeated in the steel mezzanine that provide access to the upper levels of the wardrobe.
