The 'T House' by local architecture firm Linghao Architects is designed as a semi-protected space that enjoys lots of natural ventilation and exterior conditions. From the outside, the metal frame structure, exposed concrete and block masonry white walls give the house an understated appeal.
The homeowners incorporated lots of greenery, which help add a cosy and welcoming ambience to the space. At certain times of the day, they also cast beautiful shadows on the facade.
The kitchen sits in between the entrance and central courtyard in the house. As these spaces are designed to be very open, natural ventilation offers good air circulation.
The industrial-style elements are most evident in the living area, with the natural beauty of raw concrete underfoot and white-washed brick walls. Plants line the two sides of the living room — and are allowed to flourish due to skylights overhead — to frame the space beautifully.
Other areas in the home, including the bedrooms upstairs, open up to views of this central courtyard living space so family members are feel connected regardless of where they are in the house.
Throughout the house, you'll find very clean lines and unpretentious designs.
In the rooms, Linghao designed wood cabinetry to ensure there is sufficient storage spaces.
Even the bathroom opens out to views of the central courtyard area. This strategy of incorporating windows interspersed around the home also allows cross-ventilation, so every corner of the house is airy.
