DOs

1. DO firm up your sanitary fixture selection early
Firm up your sanitary fixtures selection early in your renovation process as some of your items may not be in stock, and will need some time to indent.

2. DO check the dimensions of individual products to determine their fit to your individual body proportion.
While there are recommended heights to install various sanitary fixtures, you should be able to specify the installation height to your personal preference.

3. DO consider a corner basin if you have a small bathroom.
Corner basins are very efficient space-saver that can transform a tight corner into a useful space.

4. DO try a semi-recessed basin, if space is a constraint, to shorten the depth of the vanity counter by at least half.
This will allow you to have some counter surface to organise your toiletries, yet not cramp the bathroom space too much.

DON'Ts

1. DON’T expect to be able to adjust the height of the bathroom ceramics you have already bought.
For example, a free-standing basin with a fixed height cannot be extended or cut short to fit your comfort level (by bending down to wash your face or brush your teeth).

2. DON’T forget to get a smaller perforated waste-fitting installed in your shower drain.
This helps to prevent most loose hairs from being drained into the pipe and clogging it.
