How to declutter your home in 5 steps

Time to spring clean this weekend? We have five easy tips on how to declutter your home and keep your space looking interesting. Sometimes it's a matter of editing the look of your home to create a better look and feel. Sentimental folks, steel yourselves! Here's a list of things you could throw out that'll make a difference to your home.

1) DUMP THE BLINDS AND INSTALL CURTAINS
Curtains made of heavy fabrics and light colours help block the sunlight as well as add warmth and depth to a space.

2) SWAP OUT PRINTED FABRIC FOR PLAIN ONES
Gaudy prints draw attention away from the furniture in the room. They also make the room look smaller and cluttered.

3) STRIP THE WALLPAPER
Wallpaper could look dull over time. Try giving your wall a new coat of paint to help refresh the look of your space. Check out our guide on wallpaper vs paint before you start though.

4) DO WITHOUT A COFFEE TABLE
A side table does the same job of holding your drinks, without the bulk. Check out alternatives to coffee tables here.

5) REMOVE THE CHAIRS
Too many chairs can make a small space look cluttered. Benches pack in more people without taking up too much space and stools can be easily hidden away.
