The essence of Mid-century Danish design - all in one room!

Visit Room 606 in the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, and time seems to stand still. Kept unchanged since 1960 when the hotel opened its doors, the room is the only one in the hotel which has kept its original decor and grey and blue-green tones. But Danish architect Arne Jacobsen didn't just design the hotel, he also created furniture specially for it, and this room alone features his most iconic pieces - the Swan chair, Egg chair, and the recently reissued Drop chair. The next time you're in Copenhagen, ask to stay in this room and soak up the design heritage!

Room 606, a depository of iconic designs such as the Egg, Swan and Drop chairs, all designed by Jacobsen specially for the hotel.

The 3300 sofa series was designed by Jacobsen for the airport terminal in 1956.

The Drop chair, once rare, was recently re-issued by manufacturer Fritz Hansen. A mirror, radio and intercom system was built into this vanity counter.

Jacobsen designed every detail of the hotel, including the door handles, which are still in production today!
