INDUSTRIAL CHIC
MISMATCHED

(Campania chairs, Tubeline table, and Tubeline bench, all from Journey Eastrustic metal stools all from Egg3.)

The industrial style calls for a bare and "unfinished" look. As the dining table sets the tone for this area, seats of similar materials (metal and wood) and finishes unify the overall look. A matching bench provides flexible seating, while stools with different legs add character.

UNIFORMED

Choose metal stools that echo the aesthetics of the table, in this case, a matte aluminium tone.

FUN & CHEERY
MISMATCHED

(Magis Tom & Jerry low stool from Xtra; Ingatorp dining table from Ikea; white Flow chair from Dream Interiors; Eames chair from Xtra; PS 2012 rug in green and Nordmyra chair both from Ikea; Ton chair #14 from Grafunkt; Cyborg club chair from Xtra.)

Add an element of fun with a mix of chairs with clean shapes and crisp colours. Go easy on the number of colours used to create greater impact – red is added to accent the neutral white setting, making the chairs “pop”.

UNIFORMED

Contrast the country-style table with modern classics like the Eames moulded plastic chair in a bright hue!

SLEEK & SOPHISTICATED
MISMATCHED

(Leda low back blue chair, otto dining table, black-framed leather chair all from Grafunkt; Cappellini Hi Pad chairs by Jasper Morrison from Dream Interiors; Missoni Home rug from Miles & Theodore; stainless steel ladder from Journey East; Missoni Home pouffe from Miles & Theodore.)

A dark glass-topped table with unusual legs is the starting point of this look. We balance the moody look with a soft, feminine touch using contemporary-style upholstered chairs, keeping the colour palette muted — greys, blues and black.

UNIFORMED

Soften the look of the dark-tinted glass table with upholstered chairs in cream. As the table has an angular wooden base, the steamlined look of the chairs give the space an upscale vibe, too!
