A HDB four-roomer that looks better than a condo!

Want your HDB flat to break out of that cookie-cutter mould? This HDB flat now looks better than any condo apartment with some clever changes. Designer Mike Tan of Egg3 streamlined its layout and brought in a chic rustic-industrial style that is chic, yet comfortable for the homeowners.

To demarcate the dining and living area, Mike extended the entertainment console, creating a border between the two spaces. The small border doubles up as storage space for the dining room as well.

Finding unique pieces to spruce up the now large and spacious living space was key to transforming the room. Interior designer, Mike, found a bamboo bench that reminded the owners of a resort-like style.

Looking in from the entrance foyer, the black-framed window captures part of the dining room like a picture.

Interior designer, Mike, planned a wide, spacious look for the kitchen, with cabinetry on opposite sides of the space.

Working with homeowner's budget, the interior designer Mike used marble-lookalike laminate on the cabinets for a touch of glamour.

The bedroom has a calm, contemplative feel, thanks to the black and white theme.
