House Tour: A contemporary house with a box concept

The interiors of this semi-detached house, designed by Lato Design, makes use of a neutral colour scheme, with lots of white and cream. This keeps the place looking light and airy. But to help zone space within the large home, "boxes" are integrated strategically, and are finished in darker, contrasting colours to create mood.

On the first floor, a timber-clad "box" creates a sleek profile that defines the dining room. It conjures up a more intimate setting with its dark hues.

With the luxury of space, the large living area encompasses a lounge on the left and a wine bar on the right.

Recessed lighting accentuates and highlights the staircase "box", playing up the linear forms of the structure.

The sleeping area in the master bedroom is framed by yet another "box". The pop-out tile feature wall behind the bed has a subtle texture for a more tactile feel, giving contrast to the other smooth surfaces.

By installing a "floating" mirror, the flow of space within the open-concept wardrobe and bathroom isn’t interrupted.
