House Tour: Industrial meets pop-art in a 5-room HDB flat

If you like elements of the industrial theme, but would like to personalise your living space with your hobbies and interests, take a cue from this HDB five-roomer.

The concrete screed floor, crate-like shelves, and brick feature wall provides a good industrial-themed base for pops of colour - mostly from the collection of toy figurines and statement pieces.

We see more industrial elements in the dining area, such as the hanging wire lamps and red-orange brick wall. A painting of Roy Lichtenstein's "Girl With Hair Ribbon" infuses it with a dramatic, pop-art feel.

Although the pop-art element is less obvious in the bedroom, we still see it through splashes of colour from the carpet and chair cushions to the paintings. A highlight of this room is also the slim and long table, which provides enough desk space for two, yet doesn't dominate.

The bathroom walls' frosted sticker panels are easier to maintain than real frosted glass, yet provide the same level of privacy. We also love the white-tiles and matte-black details. This house was designed by Urban Design & Builders.
