House Tour: An interior designer's revamped three-bedroom apartment

This executive condo unit at Pasir Ris is home to interior designer Ong Jia Qi (who runs JQ Ong/The Association), his wife and their two daughters.

The three-bedroom apartment was first decorated 10 years ago; following the birth of his two daughters, his style matured and he wanted to inject more "colours and some gold."

Jia Qi has a good sense to give the apartment a neutral background to build upon - with the walls plastered with cement screed.

The “33” painting is Jia Qi's note to himself to be financially stable by that age. The Eames lounger was a present to himself.

Elements like the touches of gold and fanciful curves tie the different styles in the living room together.

This mid-century wardrobe holds the homeowner's work materials.

Abstract art Field of Lavender is hung above the bed. The wooden stool is one of a pair spotted outside a flat, and purchased for $50.
