MEET: Jane Bonsor of Korla

Jane Bonsor of Korla

Starting out as a fashion designer who designed her own prints, Jane Bonsor now designs fabrics for her interior textile and design house, Korla, a company she started together with business partner, Ted Utoft.

Jane's designs feature modern cubist monochrome, demure botanicals and feathered creatures in eye-popping colours and elegant geometrics. Places, art exhibitions and holidays inspire her designs and it is easy to spot the cultural influences: phoenixes, Arabic patterns and Bhutanese weave. Together with a palette of happy colours, Korla’s fabrics do indeed add oomph to your home.

The fabrics are sold as materials but, for added convenience, you can order them as bespoke curtains, blinds, cushions and even lampshades. The virtual showroom on Korla’s website will let you drop any of its fabrics into the room setting to create the mix you want. Prefer to see, touch and feel the fabric? You can request for fabric samples — they'll send you up to six swatches, absolutely free!
