Samsung's new fridge and washing machine are great for forgetful homeowners!

Samsung launched two new refrigerators and one new washing machine for the Southeast Asian market. They combine both wireless technology and new hardware functionalities, delivering practical IoT use to homes and families. Here are some of their best home appliances from the Samsung Forum 2016 unveiling, and they will be coming to Singapore.

We've seen the flagship Samsung Family Hub Refrigerator at CES 2016. The fridge allows users to order groceries via it's 21.5-inch Full HD screen, and you can check the fridge's contents on your smartphone by using the fridge's built-in camera feature. It runs on Samsung's Tizen OS, and the screen allows screen mirroring when paired to a Samsung Smart TV. While Samsung said that this fridge is coming to Singapore, they did not reveal the pricing and availability of the Family Hub yet. We're eagerly waiting for their response and when we do know, we'll update this article.

RT7000 Refrigerator with Twin Cooling Plus Technology

The RT7000 refrigerators come in various models with different capacities.

Samsung also brought the RT7000 Refrigerator to the Asian market. The RT7000 fridge features their proprietary Twin Cooling Plus technology - it uses two separate air-flows, distributing it between the freezer and the fridge compartments. Its air-flow design is ideal for families who have lighter refrigeration requirements, allowing you to turn off one air-flow within one compartment, saving precious energy for those days when there are fewer groceries to keep. It also helps to prevent unpleasant smells from traveling between these separate compartments.

Depending on the model you get, you can control the independent air-flows by setting it manually.

You can control the air-flow by going to the refrigerator to select between five different conversion modes (Freezer-Fridge, Energy Saving, Vacation, Fridge Max, and Mini). Their top-end model has up to 620L in capacity, and the stored food will remain fresh no matter where it is placed, as each independent cooling system can maintain a humidity of 70 percent within. While we await the pricing information of the RT7000, what we do know is that it will be available locally by next quarter (Q2 2016).

Of course, the AddWash also has the typical main door found on front-loading types.

Fans of front-load washing machines, you're in luck. Samsung is also bringing the Samsung AddWash Washing Machine to Singapore. This front-load washer comes with an extra "access door" - Samsung claims that this feature is an industry-first. This access door lets you add more clothes during the wash cycle without opening the main door.

Smart Control not only makes it easy to alter the wash settings, but it also lets you connect to your washing machine to an iOS or Android smartphone using Wi-Fi connectivity.

Like its earlier Wi-Fi-enabled washing machines, Samsung's AddWash also comes with Smart Control. Smart Control is shown via a full color LCD touch display panel on the front of the washing machine. If you cannot hang around the appliance, you can still monitor the cycle's progress on an iOS and Android smartphone. Smart Control also comes with various wash profiles, designed for different materials and different levels of cleaning. The AddWash comes with different capacities for different models: for example, the WD9500JK has touch-only controls, and it's able to handle up to 16kg for washing and 8kg for drying clothes. The WD7500JK can only handle 13kg and 6kg for washing and drying respectively, but it comes with an analog control knob for selecting wash profiles.

Like the other home appliances, the Samsung AddWash washing machine's pricing will be revealed at a later date. For now, what we do know is that the washing machine will be available sometime next quarter (Q2 2016).
