SHOP AT: Millenia Walk

(Updated January 2016)

In the quieter part of town is Millenia Walk, a two-storey mall designed to resemble a private street. Replete with high ceilings and European-style indoor street lamps, the building houses design-focused lifestyle brands as well – many of which are local.

Here’s a round-up of furniture stores, design boutiques and artisanal eateries that are worth more than a second look.

Image: Harvey Norman

This Harvey Norman flagship superstore is nothing like the other outlets you see around the island. Besides stocking the usual IT and electrical products, the space also carries a wide range of furniture choices, such as Marie Claire and Saporini!

If you’re a lover of clean and contemporary designs, this is the place to be. The 5,500-sqf flagship store of local furniture retailer Grafunkt is a potpourri of international brands. Besides its in-house furniture range, it carries Danish furniture from Hay, Portuguese flatware from Cutipol, and French fragrances from Mad et Len.

Get your fix of wooden furniture here. Being the planet-loving company that it is, Commune ensures the usage of ethically-sourced lumber so you can shop guilt-free. Its flagship outlet also houses a variety of modern minimalist products such as sofas, cushions and lamps.

Hit with caffeine cravings while browsing? Commune’s own cafe next door serves up grilled paninis and a mean cup of joe you can’t say no to.

This is where you can find – you guessed it – storage items of all kinds, all under one roof! But besides that, Howard's Storage World also sells other cute home accessories such as ice pop makers, and drink dispensers. Everything that you need for organising your home can be found right here.

The furniture selection at Ligne Roset is far from ordinary. Made with unconventional shapes, colours and materials, their collections are bound to make a statement in your home. Besides sofas and beds, Ligne Roset also sells a range of accessories and homeware for any space!

The first thing you’ll notice upon entering Dreamweave and Other Stories is the immense collection of rustic rattan tables and chairs – the works of Sika Design. Go further into the lifestyle store to see the Moroccan ceramics, patterned cushions and decorative candles by Tine K Home. A few shelves are dedicated to Campomaggi leather bags as well.

After all that walking through the 280-metre-long mall, rest your feet and reward your tummy with Patisserie G’s sweet treats. The G Spot, a cheekily-named dark chocolate mousse, and the Lemon Cheesecake are among its sweetest!
