Restaurant Luxe Singapore is both sophisticated and serene. The dining area has a lightly hued palette, accented with blonde wood and tan leather Nordic-style furniture, as well as white marble finishes and gleaming metallic tones. A long, sleek bar forms the focal point of the space – a great perch for after-work drinks (try the refreshing tropical-inspired spritzers).

Luxe is a Sydney-based brand, with five bakery-cafe outlets in its native city. But here in Singapore as the group's first overseas venture, the restaurant – designed by Victoria Hampshire of her eponymous practice – takes on a more refined look. "The space has a balance of highlights and neutrals, with warmth and texture infused into the clean, mostly white surroundings," says Victoria. She also chose porcelain plates from Mud, a well-known Australian brand, for its beautiful craftsmanship and interesting forms that add to the dining experience.

The restaurant aims to bring a dose of luxury into everyday nosh, as seen in its elevated version of the sausage roll, which is handmade with pork and fennel. Helmed by renowned Singapore-born Australian head chef Chui Lee Luk, the kitchen serves up dishes inspired by her South-east Asian roots. Some creations that fuse regional ingredients and modern Australian fare are the grilled barramundi with rojak flower butter sauce and pandan madeleines with kaya.
