But Verre Modern Bistro & Wine Bar has more than just delectable wine and food combinations. The restaurant is also housed in a 70-year-old heritage house with a lofty ceiling. Verre was shaped after a contemporary chateau ‘tasting’ room, with a large cellar in the middle of the restaurant, serving as a showcase for the racks of wine. If you choose to dine outside instead, you’ll be brought to an alfresco terrace facing the Singapore River – talk about dining with a view!
As for food, starters such as the Charcutlerle Plates are ideal for sharing with your dinner partner. Other appetisers such as the Tuna Tartare and the Lobster Salad are served cover under a large glass cloch, which helps to retain their tantalising smells.
