Dining areas are one of the most-used spaces in a home, so it’s no wonder homeowners want them to look good and feel great.
For comfortable dining, the area also requires good lighting.
Besides, investing in well-considered lighting can make your signature dishes look even more delicious and provide flattering lighting for sharing food photos online.
Pendant and hanging lights can transform your dining area in a seemingly effortless way. There’s more to sourcing the right one for your space.
The lines of these four minimalist lights allow them to make a statement or enhance your interior design concept subtly.
Foscarini Tonda Suspension Pendant Light
Light shapes the space and lighting fixtures are like glowing and glittering jewellery that gives your space a finishing ‘oomph’.
And they don’t need to always be ostentatious, just like this “Adam and Eve” Tonda Pendant Lighting by Foscarini, designed by Milanese designer Ferruccio Laviani.
This seductive light abstracts the Biblical story of the forbidden fruit. Do you see the snake and the apple yet?
Price on request from Space Furniture.
ClassiCon Roattino
Matte white finish in lighting objects can make an equally powerful statement in a room while providing your eyes somewhere to rest from all the colours and textures, such as this classic S-shaped Roattino Floor lamp designed by Eileen Gray for the Deutsch furniture company Classicon.
ClassiCon Roattino Floor Lamp is priced approximately at $2,000, and is available at Space Furniture.,
Arkiturbine Pendant Lamp
Designed by Danish designer Hans Christian Asmussen, the Arkiturbine 70 P1 pendant light is digitally fabricated with laser cuts.
The pendant’s design is deceptively simple – its white turbine blades made of simple plastic, and the skeleton made of aluminum.
The resultant light gives a soft, gently diffused light that emanates through your living space.
Arkiturbine Pendant Lamp is priced from $604 from Danish Design Co.
Unika Pendant Lamp
Designed by Denmark-based duo Anne Louise Due de Fønss and Anders Lundqvist for the Michelin-starred Restaurant Grønbech and Churchill in Copenhagen back in 2012.
The restaurant was best known for its simple fare – to which this honest lamp was a befitting extension in design.
The Unika Pendant Lamp is carried by the Olso-based furniture retailer Northern, and comes in clear glass, grey glass, and a matte white (pictured). It hangs off a twisted fabric and brass wire, and weighs 0.7kg.
Unika Pendant Lamp is priced from $456 on Danish Design Co.
