Watching YouTube videos helped married couple Terry Chang and Chen Xianhui, both 32, decorate and furnish their new home.
The stylish couple had honed their aesthetic sense when they were overseas – Mr Chang worked in Stockholm, Sweden, for about six years, while his wife did her university degree in Tokyo, Japan.
The black wall in the bedroom – the couple opted for the colour as a contrast to the other white walls so the room looks "chic and clean" – was decked with a pair of brass night lights that were made-to-order in the United States, and a large white picture frame designed by Ms Chen.
To the owners of this five-room flat, vintage style is not just an on-trend phase but also something they embrace wholeheartedly. Their collection of antique furniture and memorabilia has been waiting in the background for years before they bought and renovated this home.
The study looks like a “classroom”, which is large enough for six students.
A minimalist colour scheme and fine detailing transformed this four-room HDB apartment in Woodlands.
In the bedroom, the play on lines and forms is apparent in customised box-like bookshelves that are artfully staggered on the wall so they resemble a thee-dimensional black-and-white Mondrian painting.
