Bling collectors now have another holy grail collection to add to their display. Swarovski’s SCS Annual Edition 2018 collection, designed by Martin Zendron, features a limited-edition crystal sculpture of a giraffe named Mudiwa. The unique fading effect seen on the surface of the crystal is the result of the 651 facet-cutting technique, which mimics the animal’s fur patterns.
Mudiwa is available to SCS members at Swarovski stores and www.swarovski.com.
When it comes to challenging conventions, few designers can make heads turn as dramatically as the self-professed bad boy of the English design scene, Tom Dixon. Armed with an unorthodox approach to conventional design, Tom recently partnered with Swedish furniture giant Ikea to create a new form of customisable seating/lounging appointments for modern homes. At the core of the versatile Delaktig collection is a range of armchair, two- and three-seater platforms, which can be customised into various configurations. By moving backrests to your desired positions, along with the addition of optional elements, such as LED lamps and side tables, Delaktig can be adapted into any room layout. With prices starting from $469 for an armchair platform to $729 for a three-seater platform, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg to enjoy the liberty of putting together your own furniture designs.
Delaktig collection is available at Ikea Tampines and Alexandra. Find out more at ikea.com/sg.
