H&D Hotlist #108: New design products, furniture and accessories
Small But Mighty
Don’t be fooled by its size – although it’s compact, the Beolit 20 by Bang & Olufsen can easily fill a room with powerful sound and impressive bass. The updated version of the original in 2012 sees a sleeker design with optimised acoustic performance, more durable buttons and a vegetable-tanned leather strap for portability. Music lovers will also be glad to know that the battery life has been vastly improved, and it now has wireless Qi charging as well.
The Beolit 20 retails for $800 at the Bang & Olufsen Grand Hyatt flagship store, Lazada flagship store, and major electronics retailers.
A Future Home
Remember designer Virgil Abloh’s art installation TWENTYTHIRTYFIVE, presented in the Fire Station on the Vitra campus in 2019? The pieces from his installation, which depicts his vision of a future home, are now available for purchase – you can get your hands on pieces like the Antony armchair, Petite Potence lamp, and Ceramic Block, all in a new baby blue finish. “To me, design always has the inherent idea of being a bridge from the past, with an eye towards the future,” says Abloh of the collection.
The collection is available for purchase at www.basic.space.
Rug N’ Roll
Add a touch of whimsy to your child’s bedroom with the new collection of rugs from Dutch brand Tapis Petit. Made of 100 per cent cotton, these rugs are specially designed to cater to children with allergies and hypersensitivity to dust and are fully washable. They come in various colours and shapes, ranging from adorable cartoon animals to hand-tufted abstract designs.
Shopping for a desk to make WFH life easier? The White Wood desk by Japanese label Atomi is easy on the eye and offers plenty of storage within its compact body, making it a practical choice for small spaces. Like the rest of its range named the Toy series, the desk features clean lines and a sturdy oak body, creating a minimalist silhouette that lends itself well to any room.
The White Wood desk from the Toy series retails at $2,500 at the Atomi boutique at 333A Orchard Road, Mandarin Gallery #04-27.
