H&D Hotlist #120: New design products, furniture and accessories
The Throne of Seduction
Furniture, such as Franco- Italian artist and designer Marc Ange’s Il Pavone (Italian for peacock), a six- piece capsule collection for Visionnaire, that exists in the realm between art and design injects drama into one’s space.
It comprises a limited edition throne created in the image of a peacock, notorious for its dramatic beauty and sublime plumage, with an extravagant, bronze-plated brass and velvet backrest and armchairs with the same fabrics seen in the throne, but with a more contemporary silhouette.
Marc considers the male peafowl a romantic bird whose plumage not only attracts potential mates but also makes it an easy target for predators referring to it as “seduction without compromise”. A guaranteed conversation starter.
The global furniture production slowed down in 2020, with many products released in 2019 languishing in ports and warehouses waiting to be shipped to their destination. One of them is Poltrona Frau’s elegant 2019 chesterfield armchair, which has just arrived at Proof Living’s showroom.
An updated and simplified version of a design launched in 1919, the 2019 version features a more compact proportion and gadget-friendly tray without sacrificing the stateliness and comfort of the original design. A truly updated classic.
Poltrona Frau 2019 armchair retails from Proof Living, price upon request.
Luxury, Since Day One
Versace’s Children Spring-Summer 2021 collection features dynamic shapes, exuberant colours, and statement prints. Iconic designs are adapted for little ones – classic prints are featured in ultra-soft fabrications, enriched with ethereal pleats and effervescent flounces.
The luxury fashion house’s signature Golden Barocco motif embellishes a baby stroller, the collection’s centrepiece that aims to ensure the Versace lifestyle starts from day one.
Versace Newborn Stroller is retailed by Versace Children at Versace Singapore MBS and Versace Singapore Paragon, price upon request.
