This home in Kaohsiung, Taiwan strikes a balance between industrial, Japanese, and modern styles. It was designed by Taiwan-based interior firm Hao Design, who worked to create comfortable and stylish space with good flow. Here's what they did:
The solid wood platform resembles a raised Washitsu (Japanese-style room), where the homeowners can sit and enjoy the garden view.
The open space plan features a spacious kitchen which can fit a 280cm-long counter top — something that the homeowner, a cooking enthusiast, will surely appreciate.
The team from Hao Design hacked away parts of the ceiling, and discovered a slope. This, and the lower ceiling of the kitchen, gives the impression of a larger space.
The green tiles is another way to bring the greenery in.
There are also lots of wooden features, such as a hanging planter and open-shelf cabinetry.
Subway tiles are commonly seen in the kitchen and bathroom, so incorporating this popular design into the bedroom is a fresh idea!
As the home lacked windows, making it hard for light to enter, Hao Design created a ceiling window in the master bathroom.
The mosaic blue tiles add a pop of colour to the wood-and-white space.
The home features lots of concrete-look walls, and steel elements such as the hanging wardrobe, give the interiors an industrial look.
The cove lighting and wooden finishes in the walk-in wardrobe creates a cosy ambience.
