Like her or loathe her, you can’t deny that Kim Kardashian is extremely good at what she does, which is to keep you constantly peeled to her achievements whether it’s being a mother of four, the mogul of her own skincare-slash-beauty corporation, helping Afghanistan’s women’s soccer team escape the Taliban and even passing California’s “baby bar” law exam.

Who knew Kim also happens to be rather good at trading real estate. Her latest purchase is this amazing beach-side mansion in Malibu, costing a cool USD$70.4million. Kim put down her name on the deed after listing a posh condo unit (designed by famed designer Vincent Van Duysen) in Calabasas (where much of Keeping up With the Kardashians was shot, and formerly an office for her fashion brand, Skims) for USD$3.5 million. Kim also had to dole out USD$23million to pay ex-husband Kanye for his share of their former family home – a mansion located in the same area.
This new beach-side home previously belonged to supermodel Cindy Crawford, who has since moved next door. It was originally priced at USD$99million, but even at its actual sale price of USD$70.4million, the property remains one of Malibu’s most expensive homes to change hands this year. Take a look at what that hefty price tag brings.
Kim’s new pad is a double-story, red-roofed Mediterranean bungalow; the residence spans 7,450 sq ft with 139,392 sq ft of luxuriously landscaped grounds. With a chic, airy floor plan, the main floor is complete with a great room combining the living room, den, dining area, and gourmet kitchen.
The home also comes with its own private access to the beach below.
A private path leads down to the white sands of El Sol Beach, accessible only to the handful of surrounding mansions that make up the neighborhood.
Mature trees, including palms, surround the house for a serene, natural feel.
Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors showcase sweeping coastline views and open onto the wraparound deck with firepit.
In the mornings, Kim likes to lounge out by the terrace, enjoying the sight of the rising sun.
The grand master suite includes a fireplace and sitting area, as well as dual spa-like bathrooms and a walk-in closet. The other bedrooms include their own en-suites, with one having a private entrance, bathroom and kitchen.
A gym with vaulted ceilings and a media room complete the villa.
A spectacular pool and spa including a cabana with its own fireplace, tennis courts, and multiple outdoor decks provide options for entertaining and enjoying the stellar sunsets for which Malibu is known.
The dining area features an extra-long dining table, specially custom-made for the home. Sliding doors open up the space onto the deck outside with an unobstructed view of the oceanfront beyond.
If you are one of the lucky few to be invited to the home, you’ll have to travel along this pebbled driveway up to the house.
The double-storey villa appears at the top of the driveway, like a classic gentleman ready to welcome his guests.
The grounds outside the villa are as breathtaking as the interiors.
The living room offers plenty of plush sofas where the family can lounge out in.
Kim was careful to retain original parts of the building to maintain its original charm, such as this beautiful winding staircase.
The villa is designed to adapt to the undulating terrain of the landscape.
Wondering how Kim maintains her svelte figure? Probably by making good use of her personal tennis court.
The outdoor deck is where Kim hangs out with her neighbours Cher, Leonardo diCaprio, Lady Gaga and Courtney Cox when they come over for dinner.
