Having returned to Singapore after being overseas for some years, RSAF serviceman Lim Jun Kai and his wife Samantha Heah, who is self-employed, decided to change up the look of their home to better suit the needs of their young family of three.
They approached Barry Lim and Patrick Siah of W5A to execute the renovation of their home, which is a 1,119sq ft executive condominium apartment in Jurong.
In the living room, the interior designers inversed the orientation of the space, such that the TV feature wall now occupies the long side of the room, giving the perception of greater spaciousness.
Avant Oak laminate from Admira was used to clad the built-in TV console cum feature wall. The light wood tones of the laminate create a subtle warm vibe to the living area.
The master bedroom was kept simple and restful.
Apart from wanting a sleek, modern look throughout their home, the couple had a few other design specifics in mind.
Jun Kai wanted a study where he could work on his computer without disturbing his wife’s rest, and Samantha wanted a sizeable wardrobe with display cabinets fitted in.
Cifra walnut laminates from EDL give this area a handsome look that feels private and sophisticated.
Renovation took over two months and the family moved in during March this year. The cost of renovation was approximately $50,000.
