Home to a couple in their 30s, this 1,300 sq ft (120 sqm) five-room HDB resale apartment in Bishan has Scandinavian-inspired interiors.
A Casual Home
The couple told their designer, See Shuwen of Rezt & Relax Interiors, that they wanted the space to look trendy, and exude a casual vibe.
A palette of wood and grey fills the dining room, complete with a wooden dining table and grey dining chairs. The spaciousness here also adds a welcoming yet cosy ambience.
Open-Concept Kitchen
The open-concept kitchen has a monochromatic colour scheme, which the homeowners decorated with pops of colours like green and red with plants and kitchen accessories respectively.
Kitchen Walls Hacked
With the walls between the kitchen and living room hacked, more light streams into both spaces.
When the homeowners invite guests over, there’s lots of space for them to gather around and hang out at, too, including this bar counter area.
Service Yard
Even the service yard was not forgotten, as the couple decided on including cabinetry to keep this space clean and neat, while having enough countertop area when necessary.
Bathroom
The common bathroom has a very interesting visual feature, thanks to geometric-patterned tiles and a uniquely shaped mirror.
Master Bathroom
The master bathroom is kept simple, with wainscoted doors for the full-height wardrobe here.
Total Renovation Cost: $90,000
Part of the $90,000 renovation also included creating this hotel-style luxurious master bathroom. The entrance of the bathroom was reconfigured to lend more space in the master bedroom.
