The home may be fashioned after the past, but don't expect it to be dirty! “Anything dusty, dirty, musty—forget about it here,” Karl Lagerfeld told Vogue. “I like my eighteenth century fresh.”

Karl Lagerfeld also designed two suites in Hotel de Crillon. Called Les Grands Appartements , they offer breathtaking views over Paris. The designer gave the suites a 18th century look, which echoes his personal vision of French chic and modernity.

Check out the futuristic-style South Lobby of Estates at Acqualina — it is Karl's first foray into interior design in the US. "I did too many houses I never used, so it is interesting to make a kind of modern overscaled project. I wanted something fresh and silvery," says Karl Lagerfeld in this video.

Grand Lisboa Palace comprises three individual hotel towers, one of which was designed by Karl Lagerfeld. It will have 270 rooms and a humongous sculpture of Karl’s pet cat 'Choupette' at its entrance. Construction will continue despite the death of the designer.

Karl has designed furniture, too! He teamed up with architect and interior designer Aline Asmar d’Amman, the man behind Culture in Architecture, to create a collection of functional sculptures. They were inspired by ancient Greek architecture, which he is particularly fond of.
