Kitchen design ideas: 6 kitchens with bold looks and patterned tiles

Don't be afraid to experiement with prints, patterns and colours in your kitchen.

Check out these super stylish and loud kitchens:

The homeowners in this open-concept HDB home chose mismatched tiles for the kitchen, with four different patterns in one area. The muted tones of the appliances and cabinets keep things looking balanced.

Pairing retro-style Peranaken and vintage tiles for the floor and wall with kitchen cabinets in two shades of teal, works pretty well too!

If you don't want it to look too loud or overbearing, simply clad a single wall to create a feature in the kitchen.

The homeowners of this five-room HDB home chose to use baby blue tiles laid diagonally to create a visual effect. Intricate monochromatic tiles for the floors add visual interest.

Using tiles for the kitchen backsplash is a good option since tiles are heat-, fire- and stain-resistant. Here, the homeowners and designers chose mismatched patterned tiles for a colourful and vibrant overall look.

Use pattern tiles to segment spaces too, such as in this kitchen. Choose complementary shades of the same colour scheme, if you like.
