Made & Make: A local furniture retailer carrying Nordic-style pieces
Four-year old local furniture store Made & Make has moved into a large showroom to showcase its range of Nordic-style pieces from about 10 brands. “We focus on aesthetics that are minimalist and no-frills,” shares co-founder Erricson Wong. Together with business partner Agnetha Chan, he is frequently contracted to furnish hotels and F&B establishments around Singapore, aside from consulting homeowners on sleek furniture options.
Housed in an industrial building, the interiors of the retail space surprise with the store’s range of quality furniture, lighting fixtures and accessories from established names including Wendelbo, Lambert and Fils, RUBN, &tradition, as well as local designer brand Jottergoods.
“We carry a broad range of products. Here, you can expect to find wall lights, outdoor lighting, pendants and even floor-standing lamps,” says Erricson.
Perfect even for small apartments, the DCW Surpil chairs, designed by French designer Julien- Henri Porche, come with powder-coated steel frames with seats of contrasting colours like natural or stain walnut, and stainless steel.
This new space also offers both partners free reign in displaying the pieces. “We don’t believe in creating specific atmospheres or ambience, but would rather have the designs speak for themselves, so we kept the interiors pared down and just played with natural light filtering in through the expansive windows,” he adds.
Dress up your home with accessories, including mirrors, rugs, vases and tableware like carafes and glasses.
