Star Wars x Grafunkt — the furniture collection to get you pumped up for Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Hello, Star Wars fans. It is about a month before the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the eight Star Wars installment that stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher (RIP!) and Andy Serkis.
While we were busy counting down the days, local designer and co-founder of Grafunkt Nathan Yong has teamed up with Disney to produce a series of exclusive collectible sculptures (and/or furniture — it depends if you want to actually sit on it) so majestic that Mark Hamill will be jealous.
Four marble pieces has been released, each modelled after iconic characters Sandcrawler, Millennium Falcon, TIE-Fighter and AT-AT. The Millennium Falcon and TIE-Fighter represents the duality of Light and Dark, while the AT-AT and Sandcrawler have strong visual and architectural elements.

“I am stoked to have the opportunity to collaborate with Disney on this collection as Star Wars is very much a part of me and my generation’s life with its imperative pop culture impact and influence. Being a classic film while its contemporaries fade into obscurity, Star Wars remains timeless, accompanying us from boyhood through adulthood,” says Nathan.

“I hope to immortalise this journey of our evolving aesthetic sense as well, with this art and design-centric collection being a reflection of our current pop culture — one that challenges people’s mindset and perception of what film merchandising can be.”
