The design of this home is based on the homeowners' — a young couple — love of art. They wanted a "loft-type, art gallery sort of feel".

They found this 25-year-old apartment and its unusual split-level layout attracted them.

Enlisting the help of an architect friend Koon Wai Leong to redefine the interior, the homeowners proceeded to gut the rooms on both levels.

The walls in the living area were replaced with large glass windows linking to the balcony for a continued sense of openness.

Wall-curated pieces throughout the home create a visual "journey" that links the upper and lower levels.

Design icons like Kartell's Spoon bar stools complement the art gallery-feel of this couple's home.

They also painted witty pieces of art to fit the walls nicely for a more personal touch.
