It’s hard to put Knots Living in a box and call it a furniture shop, because it’s a flower shop and cafe as well.
Located in an industrial estate in Paya Lebar, the 2,600sqf space was designed by Cube Associate Design with an industrial-chic vibe — befitting of the warehouse space it occupies — with its distressed-looking grey walls and floors, lofty ceiling height and expansive facade windows.
Adding warmth to the space are furniture pieces from Philippine brand Triboa Bay, which you can try, as you grab a bite or drink from the cafe. The brand’s dining tables, benches, chairs, sideboards and shelves look both rustic and modern at the same time. All the items, including lighting, are made to order. Here, you can also get shabby chic or country-style decor objects from American brand Creative Co-Op, which complement the sturdy furniture pieces.
Also, since Knots Living houses a flower shop, you can be sure the place will always decked out with fresh plants and flowers. In fact, the three-in-one space is the brainchild of Soh Yee How, founder of Xpressflower.com.
Although the businessman has been managing the successful florist chain for the past 21 years, he has a keen interest in design, and has been attending design fairs around the world to keep up to date on the latest trends, especially in gifts and decor.
Yee How shares that the concept of Knots Living was inspired by an old shophouse in Hong Kong that married a plant store with a cafe. His own space is just as soothing, and also efficient — you can get coffee, shop for furniture or gifts, and pick up flowers, all at once!
